Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, professionally known as Megan Thee Stallion has announced that she is taking a break from social media for the rest of the year.
It has undoubtedly been a tough year for the controversial American rapper who can’t seem to be forgiven by fans of disgraced rapper Tory Lanez, after he ended up in jail for shooting Megan in the foot.

Ever since his rightful incarceration, Megan has faced a considerable amount of backlash on social media, with some still insisting she was never shot and only reported Tory to the police out of jealousy and bitterness.
As if all that is not enough drama for the “Body” hitmaker, she has become public enemy number one for fans of Nicki Minaj after Megan threw shade at Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty for being a registered pedophile in her hit song “Hiss”. This provoked a series of coke-induced rants from Nicki which culminated in the release of “Big Foot”, which performed quite underwhelmingly.
Despite all the controversy around her, Megan Thee Stallion has had a great year. Her “Hot Girl Summer” tour was a success, she released a movie about her life titled “In Her Words” and her single “Hiss” put her on top of the charts as the first female rapper to debut at the top of the Hot 100. It was also her first solo number one.
It has been a tough year for the embattled rapper and her announcement of a social media hiatus did not come as much of a surprise. In an Instagram post, Megan Thee Stallion said goodbye to her followers with a video of her twerking one last time for the gram with the caption “For the ones who never get tired of seeing it 😂😜 Hotties this my last day on these apps this year love yall – thee thickest and the cutest signing off ✌🏽”.
